Join the Resilient SLO Challenge to be part of building a better future

Greetings, and welcome to The Resilient SLO Challenge.

Anyone that has passed through the beautiful rolling hills and breathtaking coastline of the Central Coast of California agrees that our region is a very special place made up of very special people. Many of us feel fortunate to live, work, and raise our families here. It is hard to ignore the fact that the future brings uncertainty. Most notably, climate change threatens our economy, natural resources, health, and resilience. Climate change is well underway and is already apparent. Fortunately, we have the ability to create a positive legacy through local leadership and collective action to reduce our vulnerability and bounce back from climate change impacts.

Everyone in our community has the ability to take small actions that together can make a big impact and build resilience. Through countless acts completed by individuals, families, and businesses, we have already decreased local greenhouse gas emissions and increased connections with each other. Many of these actions can save money and contribute to our local economy.

Collectively, we are doing a good job; we can still do so much more! Together we can move toward a cleaner, more prosperous future and help make our region a model for the rest of the state, country, and maybe even the world!

Join the Resilient SLO Challenge and help to create a sustainable, just, and thriving community for our children, grandchildren, and their children for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Eric Veium
